The Australian Tax Office will soon be distributing $900* one-off payments to people earning under $80,000. To find out if you are eligible, visit the ATO website or call 1300 686 636.
Like the Australian Greens, you may have preferred the money to be spent on tackling climate change by investing in green infrastructure.
You can still choose to use this money to address climate change by increasing your home energy efficiency and minimising your water use.
For under $900 you could install:
a AAA rated showerhead or a dual-flush toilet
a 4 star rated washing machine
Ceiling or wall insulation
