News from the Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee Meeting on 24 June 2026
65 Brisbane Street, Hobart
The Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee has approved a development application for alterations, extensions to previously approved development and 13 multiple dwellings.
The proposal adds a sixth storey to the previously approved development, increasing the project from eight to 13 new dwellings and including retail and commercial spaces, while maintaining the overall design, footprint and character of the original approval, with minor internal reconfigurations to improve amenity.
310 Argyle Street, North Hobart
The Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee has approved a development application for partial demolition and alterations for change of use to sports and recreation for 310 Argyle Street, North Hobart.
The proposal involves refurbishing the existing building to create an indoor golf simulator venue, including six simulator bays, bar and seating areas, using existing parking and infrastructure, with daytime and evening operating hours and minimal external changes.
Officer level development applications approved between 1 June and 12 June 2026
Between Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee meetings, the City’s Planning Officers are busy reviewing a range of residential and commercial development applications for Hobart.
Since the last meeting, 16 development applications delegated to council officers were also approved while 19 development applications are currently being advertised.
A reminder that the Council has a planner on duty during office hours which members of the community can call through our Customer Services to check to see whether any development or work to a garden will require planning approval.
