Community Invited to Shape the Future of Miners Park
Media release – Carl Cooper, President, Tamar Valley Business Association, 26 October 2025
Beaconsfield’s Miners Park Masterplan Driven by Local Voices and Vision
The Tamar Valley Business Association (TVBA) — a volunteer-led group of local business owners and community members — is proud to invite the community to help shape the future of Miners Park, Beaconsfield.
Since 2023, TVBA volunteers have been working together to reimagine Miners Park as a vibrant, inclusive community hub for people of all ages.
After many conversations, community walk-throughs, and idea-sharing sessions, a shared vision is emerging – new and accessible toilets near the play area, safer enclosed gutters, an upgraded BBQ area for families, flourishing rose gardens, a bike pump track and a dedicated space for live music and gatherings.
Thanks to support from the Department of State Growth and their 2024 election commitment, funding has been secured to develop a masterplan for Miners Park and the Beaconsfield local business centre. The project team includes Form Planning + Projects, Realm Studios, So Architecture, and the University of Tasmania, with UTas students contributing to community engagement.
“This project belongs to the community and is being driven entirely by volunteers who care deeply about the future of Beaconsfield,” said TVBA President Carl Cooper. “We want as many voices as possible to help shape a park that truly reflects the heart and hopes of our town.”
Residents, families, and business owners are invited to share their ideas at a community workshop:
Workshop: Wednesday, 29 October, 17:00–19:00
Venue: Exchange Hotel, 141 Weld Street, Beaconsfield
Additional pop-up sessions will also be held:
Wednesday 29/10, 12:00–16:00: Community drop-in & BBQ at Miners Park
Thursday 30/10, 08:30–11:00: Community drop-in at Moon Lilly Café
Community members can also complete the online survey via the QR code displayed on posters throughout Beaconsfield.
