New Tasmanian Ministry and Cabinet Announced

New Tasmanian Government ministry announced
Two new members will join the Tasmanian Liberal Government Ministry.
Bridget Archer has been announced as the Minister for Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Minister for Ageing.
Gavin Pearce will become Minister for Primary Industries and Water and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff has today outlined his new Cabinet, bringing together a wealth of experience to deliver on the things that matter most to Tasmanians.
“We are getting on with the job for Tasmanians,” Rockliff said.
“Tasmanians have voted, and we must respect the will of the people.”
Guy Barnett will be Deputy Premier, Attorney-General, Minister for Justice, Corrections and Rehabilitation, Minister for Small Business, Minister for Trade and Minister for Consumer Affairs.
Eric Abetz will become Treasurer, Leader of the House and Minister for Macquarie Point Urban Renewal.
Felix Ellis will be appointed Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Minister for Skills and Jobs, and Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management.
Jane Howlett will become Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Minister for Racing, and Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family Violence.
Nick Duigan will remain Minister for Energy and Renewables, Minister for Parks and Minister for Sports.
Jo Palmer will be appointed as Minister for Education, Children and Youth, and Minister for Disability Services.
Kerry Vincent will become Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Local Government, and Minister for Housing and Planning.
Madeleine Ogilvie will be appointed as Minister for Environment, Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy, Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, and Minister for Arts and Heritage.
“I want to acknowledge the tireless efforts of Roger Jaensch, who has achieved so much across portfolios such as Education, Children and Youth,” said Rockliff.
“Roger has delivered new and upgraded infrastructure across our schools and child and family learning centres, as well as driving the delivery of the Commission of Inquiry recommendations.
“In the face of challenging circumstances, Roger is a calm and considered voice, and he will continue to represent the people of Braddon with his measured approach.”
Marcus Vermey will be appointed as Government Whip, and Rob Fairs will become the Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Engagement and Sport.
In line with our draft Foundations of Stability framework, the Crossbench Liaison Office will be established to enhance working protocols across Parliament.
This includes Ministers coordinating regular briefings for Members of Parliament, providing access to departmental information on upcoming legislation, and supporting independent analysis of major policies and bills.
