Media release – Nic Street, Liberal Member for Franklin, 28 May 2024
Statement from Minister Street
After taking some time out to focus on my health, this week I have returned to work and am excited for what’s ahead in each of my portfolios.
I have always been honest about my struggles with mental health in the hope that it may help others who are also struggling, and of course to normalise the stigma that is attached to it.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the support and messages from the community and my colleagues. It is humbling to receive notes of kindness from people I have never met, as well as those who know me well.
I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Premier Jeremy Rockliff and all my ministerial colleagues for their support during my leave, and particularly to Deputy Premier Michael Ferguson, and Ministers Roger Jaensch and Nick Duigan for acting in my portfolios.
Our government has a lot to deliver as part of its 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, and I look forward to being part of it.
