Tasmanian Fire Service Employees Start Industrial Action

“At 0830 Monday 17 March 2024 UFU members in TasFire Equipment commenced industrial action.
“The government promised to transition TasFire Equipment Members into the Firefighting Industrial Agreement in the past two Agreements and failed to stand by these commitments.
“In the current Agreement, the government committed to review the classification structure so that it reflects the work undertaken by TasFire Equipment Employees.
“The Premier as the Minister Administering the State Service, agreed to complete transition arrangements and review by 6 March 2024 and has again failed to honor this commitment.
“If Tasmania Fire Service employees cannot rely on the government to keep commitments they have made, how can the voters of Tasmania trust the promises being made during the election?”
