The first CLT multi-storey building in Tas. CLT produced from Tasmanian eucalypt plantations and manufactured in Wynyard at CUSP. Net-0, carbon storage, better $$ for forestry products, high efficiency, super fast to build, quieter & less disruptive construction method.
Timber in this building is <24 hrs of growth for Tas plantations. But building costs about 30% more. I reckon the state should step in to enhance investment in the technology, training & manufacturing 2 bring cost down to match traditional construction. Many advantages.
