What’s different about the Very Short Film Festival?

There are hundreds of ways, but let’s just stick to five – we like to keep it short.

  1. Bet you can’t think of any other film festival that’s held in a converted wood chip mill in Tasmania;
  2. The totally awesome premiere screening, awards night and dinner are held in a tin shed – and if you’re one of the 10 finalists (five in each category), you’ll get flown down there for the whole kaboodle;
  3. You’ll meet up with our judges, organisers and other filmmakers in a memorable little spot – the cafe near the baggage carousel at Hobart Airport – and feel like you’ve known them forever even before you get to the mill;
  4. You’ll have heaps of time to chat with/be mentored by/learn from/be inspired by/feel a lot of love from/have a laugh and a top time with fellow filmmakers, judges, industry people, festival ambassadors and a stack of other great folk you come across along the way;
  5. You’ll get to have a sleepover – yep, you read that right – in the best accommodation ever in one of the most incredible places on the planet.

Hurry up – you’ve only got until April 17  to give yourself the chance of discovering the other 654 ways the VSFF stands out from the crowd.

PS. To get a taste of it, you can join some of our judges at the online Q&A session next Saturday 1 April. Register here.

PPS. Press play below to catch Casey Bennetto, writer and musician and ABC host at VSFF, riffing on stage. Oh the fun we had!
