15 Tasmanians to Compete at Commonwealth Games in Birmingham

Commonwealth Games Selection
The Tasmanian contingent of the Australian Team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games has been finalised, with 15 athletes selected to compete in Birmingham.
Through out June, 11 athletes were added to the team, with Eddie Ockenden (hockey) heading to his fourth Games. Rebecca Van Asch (Lawn Bowls), Georgia Baker (Cycling), Stewart McSweyn (Athletics), Jack Hale (Athletics) and Jacob Birtwhistle (Triathlon) will be competing at their second Games and making their debut will be Emily Meaney (Diving) Josh Duffy (Cycling), Sam Fox (Mountain Bike), Josh Beltz (Hockey) and Jacob Despard (Athletics).
These athletes joined the previously named Jacob Templeton (Para-Swimming), Erica Burleigh (Para-Triathlon), Ariane Titmus (Swimming) and Hayden Armstrong (Para-Triathlon Guide). Tasmanian based cricketer Nicola Carey has been selected in the Women’s T20 team.
