Hobart Show Fate to be Determined Monday
Media release – Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, 15 October 2021
Hobart Show 2021
The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania will make a decision on Monday (October 18) whether it can hold next week’s Royal Hobart Show, following the state government’s lock down decision today.
The Show is due to commence on Wednesday, October 20 and run through to Saturday October 23.
The Society will closely monitor the situation over the weekend, and will liaise with its key Show stakeholders.
The Society has been forced to cancel its Art on Show launch, due to occur on Monday. The arts community had been invited to the Artery Art on Show, which this year had attracted 200 entries.
It is one of the biggest annual art events in Tasmania, and traditionally signals the beginning of the annual Royal Hobart Show.
The Royal Hobart Show was cancelled last year (2020) due to Covid-19 restrictions. This year, it is due to celebrate 200 years of agricultural showing in Hobart.
