Glenorchy Mayoral Candidates’ Forum
Rate rises, city infrastructure, transport and gambling are some of the issues likely to be on the agenda at this week’s forum featuring the three candidates for the vacant Glenorchy Mayor position.
The event is being hosted by the Culturally Diverse Alliance of Tasmania at the Glenorchy Football Club (Jack Rough Function Room) on Wednesday 30 June, 6 to 7.30pm.
ABC Radio talk host Leon Compton will moderate the forum, assisted by CDAT Advisor and Hobart City Councillor Zelinda Sherlock.
With ballot papers now arriving in letterboxes, this will be a key opportunity for the contenders – sitting aldermen Kelly Sims and Bec Thomas, and currently unseated Sue Hickey – to press their claims.
