Epuron’s Western Plains Wind Farm

Posted on

Epuron provide the following to Tasmanian Times in relation to their proposed Western Plains Wind Farm.

“Benefits of the project for the local community include up to 130 jobs during construction and a few ongoing jobs for operation, work for local contractors and a boost for nearby accommodation, retail and hospitality businesses during construction and a Community Fund of $3,000 per installed turbine annually (indexed) to support local initiatives and projects. This would amount to more than $900,000 over the 25-year life of the wind farm. Based on our project timeline we estimate that the wind farm could be operational by Q1 2024, and it would contribute 50.4 megawatts to the Tasmanian grid.”
