Call out for Artists to Exhibit at Cradle Gallery
One of Tasmania’s major tourism destinations is offering artists a unique opportunity to showcase their creative work in a beautiful wilderness location.
The Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery has issued a call-out for the 2022 Annual Exhibition program. All Tasmanian artists who are currently living in Tasmania, or those living interstate who have a strong link to the state, are encouraged to apply in response to the themes of Wilderness, Environment and Place.
Situated on the edge of the Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park, the Wilderness Gallery is part of Cradle Mountain Hotel and its accommodation offering. The gallery is an extensive 12 room facility on the edge of the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, that incorporates large art installations, exhibitions, displays and film. Collectively the experiences invite visitors into the life, stories and art of Tasmania.
“Our visitors come from every corner of the world with more than 200,000 visitors travelling to Cradle Mountain on average each year,” said Hotel Manager Todd Roberts.
“Despite the challenging circumstances of the past year our aim is to continue to encourage more visitors to experience Tasmania’s environment and culture through our art, craft and design, connecting them to our unique place on a deeper level.”
