UNHCR: Lunch money for refugees …

Thank you for your continued support in 2018. We are excited to share with you a new fundraising campaign launched this year, Lunch Money for Refugees. We are inviting all Australian schools to help UNHCR provide emergency nutrition to malnourished refugee children.

Do you have a child, grandchild, niece or nephew in school? Or do you know someone that could share this at their school? We need your help in spreading the word for schools to come on board in 2019.

Lunch Money for Refugees encourages school students to bring their lunch from home and donate the money they would have spent buying lunch to Australia for UNHCR.

Every year an estimated 3 million children under 5 die due to causes related to malnourishment. However, even a severely malnourished child has a 98% chance of survival if they receive nutritional support in time. Every donation has the potential to save a child’s life.

When schools register to join Lunch Money for Refugees, we provide them with resources including stickers, posters, donation boxes, lesson plans and informative videos to help support their fundraiser and educate their students on refugees.
