What if people could migrate freely?
Hi Lindsay,
If you’re lucky enough to hold an Australian Passport – and lucky enough to be rich – you can travel freely to 183 countries without a visa; on a UK passport 157 countries. But if you’re born in Afghanistan only 22 countries will let you enter without a visa.
You get the picture: the rich make the rules based on an accident of birth and we enjoy a life of privilege.
But what would actually happen if all people could migrate freely? Is it a pipedream, or might it actually be better for everyone, both rich and poor?
