The State’s peak farming organisation has congratulated Peter and Francis Bender, of Huon Aquaculture, for taking out the 2018 Australian Farmer of the Year Award.

“Tasmania is a testament to the fact that there is no such thing as a stereotypical farmer, leading the nation in terms of farming innovation and diversification,” TFGA President Wayne Johnston said.

“Peter and Francis are stalwarts of the Tasmanian seafood industry and it is fitting to see their dedication and long-term investment being rewarded.”
