The Briefing … Greens accused of ignoring sexual assault

Several women have accused the Greens of failing to adequately investigate allegations of sexual assault and harassment against male members.
In a report from the ABC’s 7.30 yesterday, former Greens staffer Ella Buckland accused NSW Greens upper house MP Jeremy Buckingham of grabbing her and kissing her neck on the street. In a statement, Buckingham said “these allegations are false”. Lawyer Rory Markham, who is representing a former Greens volunteer who claims the party’s ACT branch tried to silence her after she was sexually assaulted by another volunteer, said he had “never seen a more amateur organisation that has little to no organisational structure to deal with very serious issues of volunteer protection” …
