The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, has rubbished the Federal Government’s failure to take effective action on meningococcal disease.

“This is a problem that’s only going to get worse and I will not sit idly by and allow the Federal Government to continue to think that a deadly disease can be cured with political spin,” Mr Wilkie said.

“It’s not the job of the states and territories to approve and subsidise vaccines. It’s the Federal Government’s job and so far it’s been largely missing in action.”
