The Freycinet Action Network and the East Coast Alliance invite you to a public meeting on the Future of the East Coast.
When: 1.10pm sharp to 2pm, Tuesday 21 August 2018
Where: Hobart Town Hall, 50 Macquarie Street, Hobart
Who: Speakers to be announced
What: Is this the East Coast we want?
Cambria Green Amendment overlaid on the City of Hobart (Commissioned by Sophie Underwood)
The Cambria Green proposed planning scheme amendment, for Dolphin Sands and Swansea will allow for a high intensity, massively scaled, inappropriate development for Tasmania’s magnificent East Coast. This is the largest resort ever proposed in Tasmania and the largest re-zone for the east coast.
This is just the beginning. We have heard of at least one other large scale development planned for the east coast.
There is also growing concern regarding the draft Freycinet Peninsula Master Plan. The community are not happy and want second draft released for public consultation. Issues include privatising the Freycinet Visitor Centre, further development adjacent to the National Park and Coles Bay sewage issues.
The public meeting will be held on the first day that the Tasmanian Parliament sit after the winter break, and a week before the local Council could approve the Cambria Green proposal.
FRAGRANCE – ELIZABETH STREET TOWERS – Submit or Re-Submit your Representation
Tasmanian Conservation Trust
Fragrance has made a minor change to its Elizabeth Street development (PLN-17-430) that requires the entire development to be re-advertised. If you previously made a representation you need to notify Hobart City Council to ensure it is valid and is counted. Submissions close midnight 24 August 2018.
Re-submit here: https://www.tasconservation.org.au/reconfirm-your-submission-on-fragrance/?utm_source=All+Subscribers+%28send+by+segment%29+18.10.17&utm_campaign=ac382782b2-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_11_21_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0805238cb5-ac382782b2-96129217
Submit here: If you have not previously made a representation via TCT’s webpage and would like to do so, please click here: http://www.tasconservation.org.au/fragrance-development-application/
Hobart Not Highrise
Because of a change, to do with hydraulics, the Development Application for the Fragrance towers on Elizabeth Street (PLN-17-430} has been re-lodged, and it’s back out for public consultation. Some legal issue means that submissions, already made, cannot be automatically carried forward. If you don’t tell the City that your submission is to stand, then it will be ignored.
Submit or Re-submit your Representation here: http://www.hobartnothighrise.com.au/submission-form-2.html
Please forward to your networks and encourage your friends and family to come to the public meeting.
Kind regards,
Sophie
