More rain and wind as three fronts cross in two days
• Tasmania will see a short return of heavy rain and strong winds today and Tuesday as a series of cold fronts cross the state.
• Widespread rainfall is expected today and tomorrow with 48-hour totals of 30–50mm forecast for the west and northern half of the state, but up to 100 mm possible in elevated areas.
• A Flood Watch is current for the north west, north and north east, and Derwent Catchments (including Ouse) in anticipation of the forecast rainfall. Catchments are wet and some dams are spilling.
• Flood watch and warning products will be reviewed over this period. Please stay up-to-date at www.bom.gov.au/tas/warnings
• The cold fronts will also bring strong and gusty northerly winds with gusts of 75–85 km/h in the west and central parts of the state today, and in the north on Tuesday.
• Snow will fall above 800 metres late Tuesday.
• Rain will ease on Wednesday with 5–10 mm forecast for the west and less than 2 mm elsewhere.
