Allegations made in Parliament today by the Greens concerning Sustainable Timber Tasmania’s (STT) involvement as the landowner in the Southwood Project are completely wrong.
It has been a recurrent theme this week for the Greens to make grandiose and erroneous claims in Parliament in a desperate attempt to discredit the good work this government has been doing to attract investment and create jobs.
In relation to the Southwood project, the answer the Greens received from my office concerning the extent of STT’s involvement as the landowner is correct, and has been confirmed by STT.
STT has had no involvement beyond providing an agreement to lease on the proposed site at Lomas Point and providing landowner consent, as required for the Development Application.
The content of the RTI response received by the Greens in relation to roading is part of the provision of landowner consent.
This is just another kooky conspiracy theory cooked up by the Greens to try and remain relevant with their base.
We have already seen their opposition to sustainable salmon farming, mining, and forestry this week, and Tasmanians know that the anti-everything Greens won’t let facts get in the way of their wacky conspiracy theories.
