Thomas Cook Money Australia to be based in Hobart

One of the world’s largest global travel and financial services companies has established new headquarters in Tasmania bringing a significant jobs and investment boost.
Thomas Cook Group, has established its new headquarters in Hobart as part of a new venture to extend its Thomas Cook Money operation into Australia.
This is expected to inject approximately $2 million each year into the local economy and create 40-full time equivalent jobs.
Such an investment will also help develop and upskill Tasmanian industries while attracting high skilled, digital, financial and leadership professionals to Hobart.
Hobart was chosen following tough competition from other Australian regions including Melbourne.
To assist with establishing these operations in Hobart, payroll tax assistance of up to $300 000 has been made available.
The Hodgman Liberal Government proudly supports and congratulates Thomas Cook on their new venture in Hobart, which is now open for business.
The Thomas Cook Group’s move is a sign of business confidence in Tasmania and the success of our strong economic framework which attracts investment into the State.
