United States president Donald Trump and North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un have signed a joint statement pledging to build closer diplomatic ties and work toward denuclearisation.
They met at a historic summit in Singapore, committing both nations to returning the remains of captured soldiers from the Korean War, but fell short of more ambitious measures such as steps to officially end the war or securing assurances of North Korea dismantling its nuclear arsenal.
