Tasmanian Theatre Company announces new Artistic Director
The Chair of the board of the Tasmanian Theatre Company, Professor Malcolm Waters
and his fellow directors are delighted to announce the appointment of Director and
Designer Adam (Gus) Powers to replace the long time Artistic Director, Charles
Parkinson. Mr Powers will take up the position at the start of 2019.
Adam (Gus) Powers’ qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Theatre from
Monash University. He has worked as a Director, Designer, Production and Stage
Manager and worked for many years at the Arts Academy in Ballarat. As a freelance
theatre maker he has worked on over seventy productions in the last ten years.
Professor Waters paid tribute to the eleven years Charles Parkinson spent as CEO of the
Tasmanian Theatre Company.
