Scotch Oakburn urinaters

Posted on

Dear Mr Muller,

I am writing to you in regards to an incident I witnessed at approximately 7.00pm on Saturday night the 23rd of June 2018 (Saturday just gone).

Whilst travelling from Launceston to Hobart after finishing work at the AFL game, the car that I was in stopped in Campbelltown for a comfort stop. As we turned in to the street where the toilets were located I noticed a small Toyota Coaster type bus from Scotch Oakburn College was pulling out.

My travel partners and I left the public toilets and turned left, leaving Campbelltown heading towards Hobart after our stop.

Leaving Campbelltown, we crossed over the bridge and headed south. Up past the bridge on the right was a larger white bus, this one also from Scotch Oakburn College. Outside the bus and lined up against a fence there was a group of College Students in uniform urinating. I would say there was at least 8-10 students involved.

This was not a good look to say the least, and one which I’m sure your College will be highly embarrassed about. These students appeared to be in their mid teens. It was unmistakeable what they were doing, and on a main highway in full public view of locals and tourists, when public facilities were only a few hundred meters up the road.

One would expect that appropriate action would be taken with the students and teachers and or driver of the bus, who ultimately was in control of the situation, and should have know like the other Scotch Oakburn College bus driver, where public toilet facilities were located along the route for such necessities.

I trust you will deal with this incident in a timely and appropriate manner,

Sincerely Yours,

Rob Newitt
