With media speculation rife that Labor Leader Rebecca White will momentarily come out of hiding today, she has some basic questions to answer.
• Is your leadership safe, or are you buying time to shore-up numbers for State Conference?
• When will your Election Review be finished and will you commit to releasing it?
• Have you done your post-election interview, and how did you rate your own performance given only 27% of Braddon voters backed you?
• What was more important than joining the Federal Labor Leader in Braddon yesterday?
As I said yesterday, there’s little wonder why Ms White has barely been seen – she led Labor to its third worst election result, she failed to win Prosser and EMRS polling shows her popularity is falling.
Everyone knows Ms White does not like scrutiny, but she must answer these basic questions. Tasmanians deserve to know who is leading Labor and what they stand for.
Especially at a time when Labor is contesting a by-election caused by a former state Labor staffer who knew she was a dual citizen but went ahead and declared herself eligible on her official nomination form.
