TSO and National Trust to Offer Rare Treat Indeed
This Saturday 26th for the first time, the National Trust of Australia (Tasmania), the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the University of Tasmania, and the Conservatorium of Music have partnered to present an afternoon of music at Runnymede in New Town as part of the 2018 Tasmanian Heritage Festival.
Audience members will join five TSO musicians involved in the 2018 TSO Composer’s Project for an hour of music and history in the Music Room of the beautiful 1840s marine villa and gardens.
This event is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the exquisite sounds of the TSO in the unparalleled elegance of this historic property, with all proceeds going towards the work of the National Trust.
Playing will be Douglas Mackie flute, Christopher Waller clarinet, Jennifer Owen violin, William Newbery viola, and Ivan James cello with works by Haydn, Mozart, and Stamitz.
