What is the government afraid of, why are they so afraid to recognise hunters as a truly selective pest animal management tool, preferring to use environmental corrupt and inhumane poisons like 1080 (sodium monofluroacetate).
Only recently Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party Tasmania became aware of its release close to pristine trout waters, Penstock Lagoon

No longer used in most countries, 1080 is still being used In Tasmania to control pest species and reduce browsing damage caused by native animals on private land, authorised by the government agency DPIPWE.
1080 poison is a slow killer. When ingested (usually through baited food) the animal suffers a unnecessarily, prolonged and horrific death. 1080 is a poison, an indiscriminate killer.
It not only has devastating consequences for the animals who directly consume it, but it also affects the surrounding environment and its inhabitants. Endangered wedge tailed eagles, Tasmania devils, quolls may also be killed through secondary poisoning.
Have we not learnt anything, it’s well known 1080 has major risks to permeate through the ecosystem that many birds have been killed in baited areas by eating insects who have fed on carcasses and poisoned food.
