A Brisbane woman has died in police custody hours after being arrested.
Cindy Miller, 44, was found dead in her Ipswich watch house cell on Saturday. Police said Miller was arrested on Friday for failing to appear in court on a drug-related charge. Debbie Kilroy, a spokesperson for prisoner support and advocacy group Sisters Inside, said police failed to give Miller’s family information about her death, and that family members were “very distressed not knowing what happened”.
