Teen Challenge Tasmania asked schoolkids for contact details in #NotEvenOnce feedback forms
Faith-based organisation Teen Challenge Tasmania has recently developed its #NotEvenOnce drug and alcohol education program for schools, and is heavily promoting it. The program has already been delivered to 15 high schools in Tasmania, including Brooks, Kings Meadows, Deloraine and Exeter high schools.
Last week it emerged that the program’s post-seminar feedback form invited troubled students to provide their contact details (name, phone number and/or email), and Teen Challenge would be in touch.
At best this is inappropriate without parental permission, and at worst it is deeply unsettling. Teen Challenge Tasmania has since announced (on its Facebook page) that section has been removed from its feedback forms, but what was it doing there in the first place?
Were parents and teachers aware of this?
