The Tasmanian Government welcomes the University of Tasmania’s commitment to develop a new 450 bed student accommodation complex in Hobart.
Our State is facing increased demand for affordable housing options, including for the many people who are choosing to further their studies here.
These challenges are best met with a whole of community response, and this announcement is a reflection of the University’s commitment to meet demand as enrolments continue to increase.
More dedicated accommodation for students means less pressure on the available housing supply.
This announcement is also good news for students in the North and North West who are considering university in Hobart and needing somewhere to live.
