Launch of Human Rights Consultancy and Mediation Practice

Posted on

On International Women’s Day 2018, as an academic researcher on human trafficking and slavery, the Founder of the anti-trafficking Not-for-Profit Fighting for Justice Foundation, Andrea Tokaji launched a Human Rights Consultancy and Mediation Practice.

Overcoming several personal challenges, including as a CALD woman and refugee child, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Andrea has professionally worked with vulnerable families for two decades in the Australasia region.

In consideration of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and other international frameworks, Andrea combines her training as a therapist and international human rights lawyer, her experience working within government, in the political sphere and for the UN to bring a holistic solution to change management.

As a thought leader in human trafficking, slavery and exploitation, Andrea’s research and practice focuses on the prevention of human trafficking by disrupting gender based violence and demand – including in supply chains. This approach is consistent with Australia’s introduction of a Modern Slavery Bill.

Australia is a demand nation for sex slaves in particular; the most heinous human right violation. We all need to be a part of disrupting this criminal network – driven by demand.
