Labor and Liberal parties have a million salmon deaths on their hands
It has now been reported by the EPA director, Wes Ford that the Salmon Biomass should be capped at 9000 tonnes in Macquarie Harbour……
Shooters Fishers and Farmers Vice Chair, Ken Orr said ” And now the election is over, surprise, surprise, the truth is finally out”.
For more than a year we have called for a maximum Biomass limit of 8,000 tonnes, and have publicly warned both parties, that the salmon industry, and Macquarie Harbour was in serious trouble.
Orr went on to say ” They chose to ignore the truth, sticking their collective heads in the sand, buying the public votes instead”
“The IMAS report, on the health of the Harbour, wasn’t released until after the election either, well overdue, and why was that” Orr ask’s.
It would appear the EPA lost the right to be the regulator ?
Recent events also brings into question are they truly independent, or just another puppet of our government?
“Shooters Fishers and Farmers, remain totally supportive of a viable, and sustainable salmon industry”, Orr said, but certain operators should not be allowed to dictate terms.
