Bizet’s Opera Carmen comes to the big screen

Posted on

Bizet’s ever-popular opera Carmen is given a fresh perspective by iconic Australian director Barrie Kosky next month. The highly physical production will take to the big screen exclusively at Event & Village Cinemas on 7, 8 and 11 April across 17 cinemas nationally.

In partnership with Trafalgar Releasing as part of the Royal Opera House 2017/18 Live Cinema Season, Kosky’s far-from-traditional take stars Anna Goryachova giving new voice to the endlessly fascinating central character.

Featuring filmed performances from the world-renowned Royal Opera House in London, the program presents the very best opera and ballet from the iconic venue, captured in jaw-dropping detail for Australian audiences to enjoy as if they were there themselves.
