Ben Hirst will be running for 48 hours straight on a treadmill on Friday 9 February through to Sunday 11 February.
Ben has taken on this challenge in an effort to raise funds for mental health promotion and suicide prevention activities here in Tasmania.
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to educate individuals and communities about mental health; to challenge them to accept different and to encourage them to seek support for themselves and others when they need it.

Ben is a Tasmanian ultra-runner and challenge seeker who started Run for Mental Health which is all about spreading awareness, educating the community, breaking down the stigma attached and providing positivity and hope through running near impossible challenges.
Through challenges such as this, Ben has said that he hopes in the future, we will feel comfortable speaking up and asking for help when life gets a bit tough.
The Run for Mental Health 48-hour treadmill challenge will be held outside All Aerobics Fitness located at 74 Elizabeth Street Hobart. Media are invited to attend to get footage of Ben starting his challenge at 12pm on. Friday 9th February.
