I have been humbled with the keen response to my Seniors Forum and Morning Tea to be held this Thursday 2nd November. The number of RSVPs has now well and truly exceeded the capacity of the venue and therefore my office can no longer accept RSVPs.

I am extending an invitation to all those who have missed a place at the Morning Tea to a Seniors Afternoon Tea with the Shadow Minister for Ageing Julie Collins on Tuesday 14th November at 2.30 pm. We will ensure extra capacity is available for this event. Further details will be forthcoming.

Unfortunately the Shadow Social Services Minister Jenny Macklin will no longer be able to attend the Morning Tea as she will be at the funeral of Binni Kirkbright-Burney in Sydney following his tragic death. Binni is the son of Labor frontbencher Linda Burney.

The Seniors Forum and Morning Tea will proceed with Shadow Minister Carol Brown to attend in place of Jenny Macklin. Representatives from Centrelink and Tasmania Police will also be attending.
