Good morning, and welcome to The Briefing.
The parliamentary citizenship crisis continued upon resumption of parliament yesterday, with Labor and the Coalition trading accusations of cover-ups and demands for leaders to step down.
Opposition leader Bill Shorten met former prime minister Tony Abbott’s call to “show your letter or shut up”, releasing documents from the UK Home Office proving he renounced British citizenship before being elected in 2007.
