TasWater Chair Miles Hampton has confirmed that water prices will continue to go up and up unless the Tasmanian Government takes control.
In today’s Fairfax newspapers, Mr Hampton says:
“But the real issue is that under the state government proposal they would cap prices increases and we would never get full cost recovery.”*
That’s the whole point, Mr Hampton! Tasmanians are struggling under rising cost of living pressures and they simply can’t afford to pay more and more for water just to deliver fat dividend payments to Councils.
That’s why, under our Plan, we’ll cap price increases, saving the average household $550 over the next six years.
We make no apologies for wanting to deliver lower water prices for Tasmanians.
TasWater, their Council owners, and the Labor Party who oppose our Plan just don’t get it.
