Hi there,
Thousands of Australians have been contacting their local MPs asking for our suspended National Network of Marine Sanctuaries to be restored, and MPs are hearing the message loud and clear.
In the next few weeks, a beautiful photography book will be hand delivered to your federal MP, along with the names of all the sanctuaries supporters in their electorate – the people they are elected to represent.
I’ve just added my name to the book for my MP, and thought you might like to do the same. Will you add your name to be part of this powerful message here: http://saveourmarinelife.org.au/big-picture/ ?
It’s the perfect moment to deliver this message ahead of the Turnbull Government’s release of proposals that could see huge sanctuary cutbacks proposed for Australia’s marine hotspots: the Coral Sea, Lord Howe, Perth Canyon, the Great Australian Bight, Bremer Bay, Margaret River, the Kimberley, the Gulf of Carpentaria and more.
Making sure your MP knows this is an issue of serious concern to you is the best way to build the power we need to ensure the Turnbull Government rejects these devastating Abbott-era cutbacks.
Our National Network was the result of decades of science and overwhelming community support. It’s been nearly four years since they were suspended. It’s time to get our sanctuaries in place on the water so they can do their job of protecting our incredible marine life, our treasured coastal lifestyle, and ensuring we have fish for the future.
This photo book will serve as a timely, tangible reminder to your MP – that their constituents are asking for leadership to protect our sanctuaries and to leave a legacy of marine protection we can all be proud of. Please take a moment to add your name today.
Thanks,
Anne
