Marine Protection Tasmania today welcomed the news that Surfer Brooke
Mason and Olympian Justin Boocock are joining FLOATMO, MPT’s Flotilla to be
held in Sullivans Cove on Sunday the 18th of June, the final weekend of Dark
Mofo.
“We think we have at least 50 boats, the support has been overwhelming” said
Wilhemina Rea, Vice President of MPT.
“Brooke and Justin love their Tassie waters, they know that the East Coast is one of
the last relatively untouched coastlines in the world, and they know that putting an
industrial fish farm there is simply crazy – why risk it?” said Wilhelmina Rea,
“We are sending the Hodgman Govt and Tassal a message – even if you put those fish in the
water, we are not going away, as Nick Riewoldt says – when you have something
you love – you stick up for it.”
