TT-Line raid set to prop up the budget again

 Liberals raid another $80 million from TT-Line
 Cash grab is all about making the bottom line look better
 Government has no clear plan to replace Spirits

The Liberal Government’s raid on TT-Line is set to continue with the Treasurer revealing another $80 million will go towards making his Budget bottom line look better.

“The Treasurer is raiding TT-Line for his own political purposes,” Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said.

“There’s no reason why the Liberals needs to take $160 million from TT-Line’s books, other than to make their own bottom line look better.

“Tasmanians are smart enough to see this for what it is.

“The $20 million the Government has committed to buying new vessels is welcome but is a tiny fraction of what will eventually be needed.

“The Government does not have a clear plan to replace the current ships.

“Raiding TT-Line’s balance sheet to prop up their own budget is the only plan the Liberals have at the moment.

“Tasmanians deserve a clearer understanding of when the Spirits will be replaced and how it will be paid for.”
