 Premier choosing to attribute blame instead of tackling health crisis
 Tasmanians expect the Government to look forward, not back
 Problems must be addressed in this week’s Budget

The Premier’s responses in Parliament to a series of questions over the state of Tasmania’s hospital system were completely inadequate.

Labor Leader Rebecca White said Will Hodgman is more interested in playing politics than getting on with addressing the very real crisis in our health system.

“The Premier is stuck looking in the rear-vision mirror when he should be focusing on the future,” Ms White said.

“He can’t even bring himself to acknowledge the extent of the crisis.
“Playing politics and blaming others will not take the enormous pressure off our hospitals.

“Tasmanians accessing the health system don’t want to look back, they want to see improvements.

“Labor wants to hear what the Government plans to do to restore confidence in Tasmania’s hospital system.

“Workers on the front line are warning of the severe consequences if additional resources are not provided.

“If the Government does not commit serious additional funding to address the structural problems in health, the issue will haunt them every day until the next election.”
