 Will Hodgman defends condemned Facebook post
 Children needing foster care advertised on ‘buy and sell’ page
 Post called “unacceptable” by Commissioner for Children

Premier Will Hodgman and Human Services Minister Jacquie Petrusma have doubled-down on their support of the advertising of children needing foster care on a Facebook buy and sell page.

Shadow Minister for Child Safety Josh Willie said it’s an appalling lack of judgement.

“How can the Premier of Tasmania possibly think this is acceptable?,” Mr Willie said.

“It’s been condemned by the Commissioner for Children but condoned by the Minister and the Premier.

“The Government is at odds with its own expert on child safety matters.

“Even the provider responsible for the post has conceded it was inappropriate but it’s completely fine according to Will Hodgman and Jacquie Petrusma.

“A buy and sell page full of used clothes and second-hand furniture is not to place to advertise children needing foster care.

“It’s black and white but the Premier and Minister can’t see what everyone else can.

“The Hodgman Government has appalling judgement.”
