8 months since the Premier promised an audit of former Mining Minister’s emails
Matter must be resolved before Parliament resumes
Premier Will Hodgman must guarantee the audit into his former Mining Minister’s email activity is finalised before parliament returns.
Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the audit was promised exactly 8 months ago.
“The Premier promised the audit would be concluded in a matter of weeks,” Mr Bacon said.
“It’s now been 8 months and the matter still hasn’t been resolved.
“Will Hodgman has an obligation to clear the air before Parliament returns. The Adam Brooks scandal should not be allowed to spill over into this parliamentary year.
“With Mr Brooks declaring he will contest the next election, it’s important the matter is dealt with in the way the Premier promised it would be.
“And there’s increasing speculation the Government will go to the polls early so the clock is ticking on the long-awaited audit.
“This whole saga has been a test of the Premier’s leadership and so far he has failed miserably.”
