To expose an innocent person to significant harm and death just to make a point is cruel and completely beyond the pale, Australian Greens Senator Nick McKim says.

This situation exposes the sickening humanity of Australia’s indefinite detention regime.

“If she or her unborn baby die or come to harm that could have been avoided, it will be Mr Dutton and Mr Turnbull who wear the guilt.”

“The only solution is to bring all of the people detained on Manus Island and Nauru here to Australia so we can support them and try to help them repair some of the trauma and harm we have caused.”
