Tasmanian Writers’ Centre: This month writing …

Spring, seriously?

Wild weather abounds this spring, but it’s not enough to dampen the waves of activity swelling across the literary scene (and here, our weather puns must sadly conclude).

The Tasmanian Poetry Festival has drawn in talent from all corners of the scene to unite in Launceston, featuring special guests Emilie Zoey Baker, Stephanie Conn, Tanya Evanson, Dan Disney, and not to mention our very own chairman Young Dawkins. Nationally renowned poet Chris Wallace-Crabbe will also give a lecture at the festival tonight, followed by a workshop in Hobart.

We’ve also just announced the four successful recipients of the inaugural Erica Bell Mentorship Program, and they’re about to kickstart their journey with leading Australian authors with the goal of pushing their manuscripts closer toward publication. We can’t wait to find out about their journey!

In the meantime, here’s a collection of some of this month’s highlights. So rug up, and enjoy! There’s plenty to do, read, and celebrate.
