It’s an egg-stra special Bream Creek Farmers Market this Easter.

We’re unpacking the tents a week earlier than usual to align for patrons wanting to make a family day out for Easter Sunday.

As well as our usual delicious fresh produce from our regular stallholders and live music we’re offering a selection of fun Easter-themed activities, including:

• BYOB – ‘bring your own bunny’ competition, with prizes for the cutest, fluffiest and best groomed pet rabbit. Budding entrants can register their rabbit from 10am, with judging at midday
• An acrobatic, bouncing Easter bunny (from Sands Family Circus), distributing chocky eggs throughout the market from 11.45am
• Traditional ‘egg jarping’ competition (boiled eggs provided)
• Poultry expert Paul Healy talking all things chicken at 11am
• Renowned sushi master Masaaki serving traditional Japanese food

Market President Helen Whitaker said ‘we were keen to do something special for Easter, and decided to bring the market forward a week for people out and about on Easter Sunday’.

‘To add a touch of Easter, we’ve invited Paul Healy to give a workshop on poultry and eggs, and the Easter bunny will be literally bouncing along to pay us a visit with some chocolate eggs. We’re also inviting pet rabbit owners to bring their bunnies and show them off at our bunny parade.’

‘And we’re delighted to welcome renowned Sushi chef Masaaki to the market from Geeveston’.

Market stalls will feature local poultry, eggs and farm products for sale, native plants and vegetable seedlings, fresh locally grown veggies, locally made bread, pastries and condiments, wine, sloe gin, ginger beer and great coffee.

The Bream Creek Easter Farmers Market is on Sunday 27 March at the Bream Creek Show Grounds from 9am to 1pm.
