Racing Minister Jeremy Rockliff has an obligation to release the Industry Working Group’s report in full.
Shadow Minister Scott Bacon said yesterday’s Government Business Enterprise hearing confirmed the Minister had cherry-picked the report.
“Jeremy Rockliff published the parts that suited him politically but ignored damning findings and recommendations relating to consequences of cutting stakes,” Mr Bacon said.
“The Minister now has no choice but to release the report in full.
“The industry deserves to know exactly what advice was available to the Minister prior to his decision to cut prizemoney by 13 per cent.
“We know the working group warned of “irreversible” damage to the industry but what other findings and recommendations has the Minister buried?”
