The Smith Family’s 2015 Tasmanian Christmas appeal has been given a kick-start with a $5000 donation from the Hodgman Liberal Government.

“The Smith Family supports young disadvantaged children across Australia, providing support through educational programs to give them the best opportunities in life,” Mr Rockliff said.

“The Smith Family is a strong supporter of education in our state and the Liberal Government is delighted to support an organisation that delivers life changing learning opportunities to disadvantaged children. I encourage everyone to get behind the Smith Family’s Christmas Appeal”.

The Smith Family aims to raise $3.4 million nationally during the 2015 Christmas Appeal.

“Funds that are raised by the Smith Family’s Christmas appeal will be directed to learning programs that will benefit disadvantaged Tasmanian children,” Ms Archer said.

“In the last year the Smith Family has made an outstanding contribution in Tasmania, supporting over 3500 children and their families across four communities in our State”.
