The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, spoke in the Parliament today about the enormous harm done by the pokies industry, Federal Group’s appalling poker machine monopoly in Tasmania and the support they receive from the Liberal and Labor parties.
“Shame on Liberal and Labor for kowtowing to the pokies industry.
“Shame on state governments for refusing to take any meaningful steps to help poker machine problem gamblers.
“And shame on the industry for bullying, lying and destroying lives to get their way.
“Shame on the lot of them.” Mr Wilkie concluded in his speech.
